Sue’s story: affordable living in a sustainable home

Long Meadow, Diss Norfolk.

Sue is an office manager and company secretary based in Diss, Norfolk. Ecology supported Sue with a mortgage to purchase an energy efficient home in Long Meadow, a local affordable housing development. The mortgage was offered as part of our affinity partnership with the developers of the scheme.

We also provided a C-Change sustainable homes discount on the mortgage, reflecting the property’s achievement of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. The timber frame, super-insulated home uses natural materials, such as Hemcrete, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems, an air source heat pump, and underfloor heating.

It’s been lovely dealing with Ecology to arrange my mortgage. I was treated as an individual rather than a “ticklist”. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the site developed and being part of a really nice community.
