How to apply

To open a savings account

  1. All the information you require to apply for an account is available here. Alternatively, contact us by e-mail or call on 0845 674 5566 to request a full information pack.

  2. Don't forget to read Saving with the Ecology (PDF*, 548K) for our full Terms and Conditions!

  3. Complete the correct application form for the type of account you have chosen.

  4. Return your application form to us with a cheque for the amount you wish to invest. We can accept your own personal cheque or, if you do not have a current account, we can accept a cheque from another bank or building society where you are an investor. A prepaid envelope will be sent to you in your enquiry pack. Cheques should be made payable to Ecology Building Society (or simply "EBS") followed by your name or names (for example: EBS re John and Jane Smith).

  5. Don't forget to send your proof of identity. See Savings Account Identification Requirements (PDF*, 117K) for details.

  6. If you are not happy about the choice of savings account you can, unless it is a fixed rate account, ask us within 14 days of making your first payment to help you to switch to another of our accounts or to give you all your money back with any interest earned. We will ignore any notice period and any extra charges.
