How much can I save?
The minimum amount to open an Eco-60 account is £500, and the maximum investment is £125,000.
How is interest paid?
We calculate interest on a daily basis, credit interest to your account on 31 December each year, and send you an annual statement in January. The interest rate paid applies to the entire balance in your account and we pay interest on all balances, however low.
How can I pay in money?
You can pay in money by sending a cheque in the post or transferring money via the banking system. We also offer a monthly savings option by direct debit or standing order (minimum £10 per month).
How can I access my money?
If you want to withdraw money from your account, you need to give us 60 days' notice. You can access your money without notice, but if you do this you will lose 60 days' interest. You can notify us by sending a withdrawal notification form or a signed letter, along with your passbook.
You can find out more by downloading Eco-60.
How will you keep me informed about my savings?
We'll send you an annual statement every January, as well as a regular newsletter highlighting some of the projects your money supports. You can also view your savings account at any time using our Interactive service.
Save with us and you're helping to support sustainable development across the UK. The projects and properties we fund benefit the environment and local communities - whether it's an ecological new build, bringing a disused property back into use, or supporting a community enterprise.
We're proud to have supported over 2,000 projects since we started in 1981. Here's just one example of how we've helped:

With Ecology’s help, Ian built his own home while running…
I chose EBS because they had such a good attitude to the mortgage on my previous house. They are far easier to deal with when it comes to anything out of the ordinary and are straightforward with the legal arrangements, insurance etc. I want to take the eco approach anyway, but love that they actively encourage it!
