Finance Director Joins

News Amanda Chambers, Finance Director of Ecology

We’ve appointed Amanda Chambers as Finance Director to lead the development of our finance function and support the Society’s continued growth.

The appointment follows Pam Waring’s decision to step down from her role as Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director after 34 years.

Amanda brings a wealth of financial services experience gained in a number of businesses over 20 years including financial mutuals Benenden Healthcare and One Family as well as heading up financial planning and analysis at Aviva’s UK life business and Swiss Re.

It’s an exciting time for Amanda to join the Society.  Following record profits in 2018 we’re expecting to report increased assets and mortgage lending for 2019.  Having pioneered green mortgages for nearly forty years, we’re currently experiencing an uplift in demand for our sustainable lending and savings products which are helping to address the climate emergency.

We’re really pleased to welcome Amanda to Ecology.  Her wide-ranging and comprehensive experience will be a major asset to the Society in this critical role as we develop and grow our sustainable lending in response to the climate and ecological crisis.

Following her arrival at Ecology, Amanda said,

“I’m delighted to be joining the team at Ecology.  I am looking forward to playing a key part in the future success and development of the Society and to help ensure that we continue to meet the needs of all our members.”

We’d like to thank Pam, who is retiring after 34 years, for her outstanding contribution to the development of the Society throughout the period.

Denise Davies, the Society’s HR Manager is taking on Company Secretary responsibilities.
