Central cheque clearing cycle
The central clearing cycle for cheques and automated payments is normally 3 banking days; however, as the Society is not a clearing bank, your cheque will take 7 banking days to clear.
Although you are normally able to withdraw against a cheque paid into your account 7 banking days from the day we have received it, this does not always mean that the cheque has been "cleared". If the cheque is not "cleared", you will have to repay us the amount of the withdrawal.
Financial Services Compensation Scheme
Your eligible deposits with Ecology Building Society are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK's deposit guarantee scheme.
