Ecology sponsors free Resource Hub for Building Performance Evaluation

The Resource Hub, created by the Building Performance Network (BPN) and sponsored by us, includes three modules which are free to access. It will grow to include five modules and accompanying slide presentations.

There are many factors that play a role in achieving sustainable homes. Materials, technologies, finance, skills, and interactions with people all impact how a home performs. The way we measure the performance of a home and its systems is called Building Performance Evaluation (BPE). If we are to succeed in reducing the carbon footprint of our homes, we need to ensure they perform as intended.

The Resource Hub will help anyone involved in a building project understand what BPE is and where to start with it. It’s aimed at those who are new to BPE and want to understand how to avoid building inefficient homes. It should be particularly helpful to self-builders, small developers, landlords, and anyone with an interest in learning more about BPE.

The modules available are:

  • BPE: What, why and the benefits that it brings
  • Planning a BPE: Where to start and common techniques
  • Undertaking dwelling BPE

The resources are available on the BPN Resource Hub for free. We hope that they’ll help you make more informed decisions about your current and future projects.
