Double Award Success in the Mortgage Finance Gazette (MFG) Awards!

We’ve been recognised twice in the Mortgage Finance Gazette (MFG) awards, which celebrate innovation and achievement within the mortgage industry.

Ecology’s CEO, Paul Ellis has won the Lifetime Achievement award which recognises his commitment to green buildings and sustainability over the last 40 years.

We were also succcessful in the Best Self-build lender category. This award recognises Ecology’s role as a longstanding leading supporter of self- and custom-build in the UK.

Our ecological mission means that our objective isn’t the provision of lending itself. Instead we are interested in the positive environmental impact of our mortgages. This makes us uniquely committed to supporting borrowers throughout their project to ensure they can realise their vision of a sustainable self- or custom-build.

Steve Round our Chair of the Board, commented on Paul’s award,

“This year marks the end of an era at Ecology as Paul steps down. He’s been a constant presence since Ecology first began over 40 years ago, 26 of which as Chief Executive, making him the longest-serving building society CEO. During this time, he has steered the Society with unswerving commitment, empowering us to have the courage to do things differently and helping to drive the development of green finance and sustainable building in the UK. I am delighted that his extraordinary contributions have been rightly recognised in the Mortgage Finance Gazette awards.”
