This information applies to Ecology Building Society customers who make payments to or from their Ecology Building Society account.
Ecology Building Society recently completed an IT Transformation programme. As part of this, customers were sent details of their new Sort Code and Account Number.
It’s important that the correct payment details are being used to avoid failed payments.
What you need to do
Please check that any payments to or from your Ecology account are being sent using the correct details.
This applies if you:
- Make any payment to your mortgage which is not a direct debit, or
- Make regular payments into your savings account (e.g. standing orders or certain third-party payments)
You may need to update your payment details directly with your bank.
Where can I find the correct payment details?
You can find your payment details using our online service or in the letter we sent in March.

What happens if I don’t update my details?
If your details aren’t updated, payments may not reach your account and could be returned.
If you pay your mortgage by standing order and we don’t receive your payment, your account might go into arrears, which could affect your credit file.
