Ecology's Annual General Meeting 2020
Thursday 30 April 2020
Ecology Building Society, Silsden
We’re holding our Annual General Meeting at our offices, in Silsden, on Thursday 30 April. We decided to move the meeting, last month, from London in response to the challenges presented by the coronavirus outbreak.
This year’s event remains an important date in our calendar. However, during the current situation we have thought carefully about how we can balance our obligations to our members whilst acting responsibly and safely within the Government’s social distancing measures. The well-being of members and our people is our priority and we must meet these requirements in these unprecedented times.
This means that we are not opening our doors to members on the day of the AGM so please adhere to the Government’s instructions to stay at home. We will of course look to conduct the AGM within the Rules of the Society and will therefore rely on the presence of those colleagues who are also members to allow the AGM to proceed.
Your vote matters
Online voting for our Annual General Meeting closes at 5.00 pm on 27 April 2020.
More than ever, we strongly encourage all eligible members to vote to ensure your views are counted. Despite our current preoccupations the environmental crisis remains our key global challenge and we want to emerge from the pandemic ready to play our part. Our AGM resolutions are aimed at ensuring your Society continues to go from strength to strength.
It’s easy to vote and make your views known by voting online or, if you have received a voting form by post, simply returning it in the envelope provided. Click on the box below for more information.
We would like to hear from you
You can submit a question for our Directors to answer on the day by 5.00 pm on 27 April. We’ll publish the Board’s responses on our website following the AGM.
It’s very important to us that as many members as possible take up their opportunity to vote – it’s what makes us a democratic Society. All eligible members will have received an AGM voting pack via post or email by early April. The pack will contain our Annual Review and Notice of AGM which includes information relating to AGM resolutions and Directors' election statements.
This year’s voting will be administered by Civica Election Services (CES), the UK’s leading provider of independent election services.
Voting online is the greenest and easiest way to have your say. Simply visit cesvotes.com/ecology20 and enter your two-part login code as shown on your voting form or email.
We’ll donate 50p to international development charity Trees for Cities for every member who votes online (20p for those voting by post). We’ll also donate £1 to Trees for Cities for every member who signs up to receive future voting packs by email.
Please ensure we receive your vote by 5.00 pm on Monday 27 April 2020.
We are not opening our doors to members on the day of the AGM. If you have registered to attend the AGM we’re writing to you to ask you to meet the Government’s social distancing requirements and stay at home.
